Performance Optimization Engineer

Sensibill is lighting up the FinTech industry with mobile solutions that change the way people interact with their purchases and enable corporations to make critical insights. We are looking to expand our team with a detail oriented, creative, and passionate Performance Optimization Engineer. 

We’re looking for a performance engineer to work with our architects to ensure our system can scale to meet the demands of our growing customer base. A developer who uses performance measurement data along with a toolbag of optimization techniques to tune all aspects of our system. Someone with general chops in performance engineering vs. specific performance skills in a particular database or programming language.

Here’s what our new Performance Optimization Engineer will do:

  • Measure. Expand our load and stress testing infrastructure to measure performance of our service.
  • Diagnose. Implement the appropriate diagnostic tools to identify performance issues in our production environments and help us exceed SLAs with our customers.
  • Recommend. Review our system architecture and recommend changes from the perspective of performance.
  • Plan. Help further develop our scale out plan and understand the points of inflection that will require architectural changes to our system.
  • Develop. Create tooling to measure performance as well as making code level optimizations in our software.
  • Model. Model the performance of our system under various loads to help identify the capacity requirements based on traffic projections.
     

Who are you?

  • An experienced software developer. Your background is in computer science, math or engineering. You have 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in the information technology industry, with at least 3 years focused on performance improvements.
  • A performance enthusiast. You are always looking at ways to optimize systems and have experience in using application performance monitoring tools.
  • An experimenter. You love to experiment to try out new ideas, rapidly test hypotheses, gather data, learn, and iterate.
  • A bonus points seeker. You may have implemented performance optimizations for systems built using Node.js and/or MongoDB.
